Maritza Páez graduated from the Catholic University in Valparaíso with a first class degree in Chemistry (1979). Her fields of scientific interests were established largely during the Master work in University of Santiago (1986), and during the doctoral work in the Corrosion and Protection Centre in University of Manchester, when she obtained the PhD in 1992. Actually, Dr.Páez is Full-Professor in the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, University of Santiago de Chile
