José Zagal
Biography

JOSE H. ZAGAL is Full-Professor, Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, University of Santiago de Chile, Ph.D. in Chemistry Case Western Reserve University, USA (1978) and was postdoctoral fellow at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton New York in 1982. Invited Scientist, National University of La Plata, Argentina in 1991 and 1996  Invited Scientist, Federal University of Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil 1992, 1995,  Invited Scientist, University of Fortaleza, Brazil 1997,  Brown & Williamson Visiting Scholar, University of Louisville, Kentucky 1996, Invited Professor, ESPCI, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris 1997. He was awarded the Presidential Chair in Science in 1996 by a Committee chaired by a Nobel Prize in Chemistry Rudolph Marcus and received the Silver Medal “University Merit” in 1998 and the Gold Medal in 2002.   He has published over 160 papers, 5 book chapters and 3 patents. He is coauthor of two books. He is also member of the Editorial Board of two journals: International Journal of Electrochemistry and of Electrocatalysis.
